Dan Dicker, Energy contributor at thestreet.com, talks with Stephanie Link about the rapid drop in energy stocks. Dicker believes that the reasons for those drops do not represent a change in the fundamental bullishness of oil prices and oil companies for the long-term. Therefore, he tends to like the quick drop in prices as an opportunity to buy some energy companies that are ‘on sale’. He further advises investors to stay away from those energy companies that have had to extend deep debt in order to finance oil production, but he gives the all clear for energy companies that have solid balance sheets and solid production assets. He particularly likes EOG Resources (EOG) and Cimarex energy (XEC).
