Democrats and Republicans unite to call for special prosecutor to Investigate ties between President Donald Trump's team and Russia. The joint demand comes after President Trump dismissed the FBI Director James Comey.

Republican Arizona Senator John McCain said Congress must form a special committee while the Senator from Tennessee Bob Corker said "it is essential that ongoing investigations are free of political interference."

The Democratic junior senator from California Kamala Harris tweeted: "We must have a special prosecutor to oversee the FBI's Russia investigation."

Democratic Representative for Tennessee's 9th congressional district Steve Cohen said: "Democracy is in danger."

Democrat Senator of Pennsylvania Bob Casey called on the Deputy Attorney General to appoint a special counsel.
