Delta Air Lines Ticket Sales Take Off with More Domestic Travelers
Delta Air Lines on Thursday posted quarterly results which topped Wall Street forecasts, thanks in part to domestic travelers.
Delta Air Lines on Thursday posted quarterly results which topped Wall Street forecasts. Profit for the third quarter came in at $1.20 a share, two cents better than forecasts. Sales jumped 7% to $11.2 billion, a little higher than expectations. The Atlanta-based carrier added 5% more seats on domestic flights, and it charged more for tickets in the summer months. Looking ahead, Delta wants to get more flyers on the international routes. It has been building a hub in Seattle focusing on flights to Asia and it added 20% more seats on flights to Latin America since the beginning of this year.
