"The number one currency I have is my credibility," Barstool founder Dave Portnoy told Jim Cramer when discussing his decision to put his name behind the BUZZ ETF.

Trading on the NYSE under the ticker BUZZ, the VanEck Social Sentiment ETF tracks around 75 stocks - each with a minimum market capitalization of $5 billion - based on positive social media sentiment.

While the ETF had a less than stellar debut amid a broader market selloff Thursday, Portnoy said he remains confident in its future, putting his money as well as his reputation behind BUZZ.

"For me to put my name on it I have to truly believe in it," Portnoy said.
