Crumbs Bake Shop Could Get Second Life as Financiers Line Up

Crumbs could be getting a second chance. The cupcake company was at death's door earlier in the week having shuttered all of its stores on Tuesday, a result of bleeding profits and underperforming locations. Now, though, it's close to receiving a round of financing which could help restore operations. CEO Edward Slezak said in a statement the company is in discussions with several parties which could provide a lifeline. 'We are pleased to be in talks with various interested parties that are allowing us to pursue all of our options for the business, which includes consideration of restructuring alternatives' Slezak said in the statement.
