Covidien, Williams Companies Offer Dynamic Dividend Plays

Covidien shares are a smart purchase because the company will see serious synergies once it completes its deal with Medtronic and not just the benefits from the tax inversion, said Brian Hennessey, portfolio manager for the Alpine Dynamic Dividend Fund. Hennessey is also positive on shares of the Williams Companies because it is undergoing a transformative deal in the acquisition of Access Midstream. He said this deal will give Williams an even greater ability to raise its dividend. Finally, Hennessey is bullish on Birmingham, England-based IMI because of its new CEO, who he says is transforming the flow control systems company.
