David Rosewater, former lawyer for activist investors and current global head of shareholder activism and Corporate defense for Morgan Stanley, knows how activists think and behave. In an interview with The Deal, Rosewater attempts to debunk some of the supposed myths surrounding activist agendas. 'There is to some extent the belief that activists simply want to fight and be in the papers and be loud and attention getting,' he said. While that sometimes is the case, he added, most often activists would rather engage with company executives and come to some kind of agreement.
