Good morning, it’s Monday, March 30.

As of this morning, there are over 732,000 cases of the virus worldwide, according to data from Johns Hopkins.

The countries with the highest amount of cases are the U.S, with over 143,000 cases, Italy with over 97,000 cases, and Spain with over 85,000 cases.

Nearly 35,000 people have died, with Italy crossing 10,000 deaths, and Spain on its heels with over 7,300 deaths.

And there are over 150,000 recovered cases of the virus.

Folks, we’re in this for the long haul.

President Donald Trump pushed back the federal social distancing guidelines until April 30, which is two weeks later than his original deadline of April 15.

Experts say that they don’t expect the death toll to peak for another two weeks.

And Dr. Anthony Fauci has warned that over 100,000 Americans could die, based on a White House model.

Trump, on Sunday evening, expressed hope that by June 1, America will be “well” on its way to recovery.

Now, let’s take a look at New York state, which is the epicenter for the virus in the U.S.

The CDC has issued a travel advisory for New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

As of Sunday, there were over 59,000 cases of the virus in New York state. Putting those numbers up against the worldwide case count, that would put New York sixth on the total list--right between Germany with 62,000 cases and France with 40,000 cases.

New York City alone has nearly 34,000 of those cases, which actually puts the city eighth on the case list worldwide. New York City is right between Iran with over 38,000 cases and the U.K. with over 19,000 cases.

And looking at death tolls, New York state has passed over 1,000, with NYC reporting over

Elsewhere in the world, Russia has closed border crossings effective today and has placed Moscow on lockdown.

Spain has been placed under stricter lockdown restrictions, meaning only essential workers can leave their homes.

This lockdown is set to last until at least April 9.

And on Monday alone, Spain reported over 800 deaths.

On the other hand, Italy, which is under strict lockdown restrictions until April 3--although government officials have said that they plan to extend that deadline--is seeing a drop-off in deaths due to the virus.

On Sunday, 756 people had died from the virus, which is lower than the Saturday death toll of 889, according to the Italian government.
