Comcast Takes on Dish & Amazon With Online TV Streaming Service
Comcast (CMCSA) is set to launch a new internet streaming TV service.
Comcast (CMCSA) is set to launch a new internet streaming TV service. The cable giant will make the new service, named Stream, available to Xfinity customers for $15 per month and will launch the feature early next year. Subscribers will have desktop, tablet and mobile access to content from HBO (TXW), NBC (NBC), FOX (FOX) and many other networks. There will also be on demand movies, live TV and recording features available. On the downside, Stream users will not get access to ESPN and will be restricted to using the service on their home wifi connection. The new service is aimed at millennials and cord cutters who are increasingly shunning bundled tv services in favor of subscription channels.
