Shares of Comcast (CMCSA) - Get Report were up Wednesday following its earnings beat. The media conglomerate reported earnings of $0.83 a share, two cents higher than analysts' expectations. Revenue of $19.27 billion also beat Wall Street's estimates. The company saw second-quarter revenue rise nearly three percent, thanks to a robust performance in the cable communications business. CEO Brian Roberts also said the TV business and theme parks drove the NBCUniversal business and nearly offset the difficult year-on-year comparison in the film business. The results come as the company is gearing up for its Olympics coverage starting next week.
