Coca-Cola HBC CEO Dmitris Lois Dies

CEO Dimitris Lois died after taking a leave of absence from the company to undergo medical treatment

Coca-Cola HBC, a bottler for The Coca-Cola Co. (KO) - Get Report , was one of the biggest fallers on the FTSE 100 Tuesday after the company announced the death of its CEO.

Coca-Cola HBC was down 2.58%, to change hands at 2,491 pence, sending it to the bottom of the London benchmark. Shares have gained more than 11% in the past three months.

The bottler said Tuesday that CEO Dimitris Lois had died on Oct. 2. Lois took a leave of absence from the company in September to undergo treatment for a medical condition, that wasn't named. According to that announcement Lois would stay involved in the business and would remain on the board of directors.

Michalis Imellos will continue in the role of acting CEO, Coca-Cola HBC said on Tuesday.
