Cloud Growth Helps Microsoft Beat Street on Top, Bottom Lines
Microsoft beat the Street in its fiscal fourth quarter, posting earnings of $0.69 a share on revenue of $22.64 billion.
Microsoft (MSFT) - Get Report posted earnings of $0.69 a share on revenue of $22.64 billion in its fiscal fourth quarter. Analysts were looking for $0.58 a share on sales of $22.14 billion. Last year, Yahoo! earned $0.60 a share on sales of $22.2 billion in its second quarter. As for details, revenue in its Intelligent Cloud business grew seven percent to $6.7 billion, Azure revenue grew 102 percent with Azure compute usage more than doubling year-over-year and Microsoft's enterprise mobility customers nearly doubled year-over-year to over 33,000, and the installed base grew nearly 2.5x year-over-year.
