Wall Street held onto the day's highs through the afternoon to end with its best gains since March 1. The Nasdaq also set a new record close. Stocks rallied alongside European markets after the first round of the French election. Groupon (GRPN) - Get Report stock was downgraded to UNDERWEIGHT from EQUAL WEIGHT at Morgan Stanley. Analysts noted the company is lacking advertising demand. Its price target was also lowered. Kimberly-Clark (KMB) - Get Report reported a rise in net income, though adjusted earnings and sales came in below Wall Street estimates. Sales came in flat over the first quarter. The multinational also said it anticipates full-year sales growth of just 1% to 2%. Whole Foods (WFM) spiked this afternoon on reports Albertsons had held talks concerning a possible bid. Reports indicate the two have held preliminary talks, though no formal offer has been made.
