The three major equity indices finished mixed, with the Nasdaq showing the best performance for the day. Crude oil finished over 2% lower at just under $51 a barrel while gold rose almost three dollars higher to $1,188 an ounce. As for individual movers, Chipotle (CMG) - Get Report rose about 5%. The company's same-store sales improved over the fourth quarter, a sign that it's closer to overcoming a food safety scandal. Ascena Retail Group (ASNA) - Get Report slumped 10% after it reduced its full-year earnings guidance. Valeant Pharmaceuticals (VRX) shares gained 7% after the company agreed to sell three skincare lines to L'Oreal for $1.3 billion, and its Dendreon cancer business to China's Sanpower Group for $820 million.
