Closing Bell: Neiman Marcus' Disappointing Quarter; Stocks Rise Slightly
Stocks ended higher Monday, though only after a day drifting above and below the flatline.
Wall Street couldn't make up its mind on Monday, the day before one of the most highly-anticipated Federal Reserve meetings in history. Stocks ended higher, though only after a day drifting above and below the flatline. Crude oil rebounded from its worst weekly performance of the year last week to trade higher. West Texas Intermediate crude closed in the green for the first time in seven sessions, recovering from an earlier dip below $35 a barrel. Trina Solar (TSL) jumped after receiving a go-private proposal from a group that included its CEO. The offer values the solar energy company at a 21% premium to its closing price on Friday. The group said it intended to buy all shares it didn't currently own.
