The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended at a record for its ninth session in a row. That's its longest record-breaking streak in three decades. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq weren't so fortunate, logging slight losses after Tuesday's records. The Federal Reserve drove market direction this afternoon after meeting minutes confirmed a switch to a more hawkish central bank. Members said it would be appropriate to hike interest rates "fairly soon" in minutes from its recent meeting.
DuPont (DD) - Get Report contributed the bulk of the Dow's gains on reports its merger with Dow Chemical (DOW) - Get Report would clear regulatory hurdles in Europe. The EU will reportedly OK the deal ahead of an April deadline. Garmin (GRMN) - Get Report surged after a better-than-expected quarter and robust growth estimates for fiscal 2017. The GPS-tech company reported a 10% increase in quarterly sales.
