It was an early close to a holiday-shortened week in very quiet Black Friday trading. Even so, the Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P 500 turned out slight gains to close at fresh records for their fourth day this week. Target (TGT) - Get Report was an early winner of Black Friday, thanks to strong sales of television sets. More than 3,200 units were sold every minute in the first hour of Target's opening on Thanksgiving evening. Online sales, in particular, look to be a strong point this year. Adobe estimates online Black Friday sales will exceed $3 billion this year, up nearly 12% from a year earlier. Crude oil moved lower as investors awaited next week's meeting of OPEC. Major oil-producing nations met earlier in the week, though the likelihood of a production freeze agreement large enough to tackle global oversupply remains unclear.
