Wall Street smashed new records with just slight gains, recovering from what had been nervous trading for most of the session. The Dow Jones Industrial Average has ended at highs for the past 12 sessions. Sotheby's (BID) - Get Report rose after besting quarterly earnings and revenue estimates. The auction house reported a 69% increase in net income, partly thanks to a lower effective tax rate. Apple (AAPL) - Get Report inched higher after billionaire investor Warren Buffett raised his stake to 133 million shares, nearly double his previous position. The stake is worth around $17 billion. Shutterstock (SSTK) - Get Report sold off after missing profit and sales estimates in its recent quarter. The stock image database also guided for full-year sales no higher than $560 million, below analysts' consensus.
