Closing Bell: Apple Slides on iPhone 7 Worries; U.S. Stocks Fall
U.S. stocks ended the week on a sour note as a Fed-fueled rally ran out of steam. Crude oil also dragged on markets, pulling the energy sector deep into the red. Oil slumped on cynicism OPEC will agree on a production freeze next week and on fears over U.S. oversupply. A weekly read on active oil rigs in the U.S. climbed for the twelfth time in 13 weeks. Apple (AAPL) - Get Report took a tumble mid-afternoon after European market researcher GfK said iPhone 7 sales in the region fell by a quarter compared to iPhone 6 sales last year. High hopes over the new model's performance have recently propped up Apple. Canaccord cut Nike's (NKE) - Get Report price target and maintained a HOLD rating. Analysts predict Nike's future orders will have decelerated over the recent quarter. The company is set to report next week. TheStreet's Keris Lahiff has details from Wall Street.
