The Clock Is Ticking: TIME CEO on Deadspin, Facebook, Future of Print Media

There's been a lot of shake-up in media.

Just last week, Deadspin--which is owned by G/O Media--saw most of its writing and editing personnel hand in their resignations after G/O Media told Deadspin staffers to 'stick to sports.' Management then fired acting editor Barry Petchesky.

TIME CEO and Editor-In-Chief Edward Felsenthal and President Keith Grossman talked with TheStreet about the future of print journalism, what Deadspin means for other media companies and their owners and why Facebook (FB) - Get Meta Platforms Inc. Report CEO Mark Zuckerberg said that he believes that Facebook has a responsibility to 'fund and form' partnerships for media. 

When asked about the line between owners and editorial, Felsenthal responded that it's important to have "...great ownership that understands the lines. And respects the integrity of editorial and the content that brings in the readers and brings in the advertisers."
