With the deadline for proposals recently past due, towns and cities are incredibly eager to woo Amazon (AMZN) - Get Amazon.com, Inc. Report as the company considers where to build its second headquarters. Amazon recently tweeted that it is reviewing applications from 238 cities in North America.
From appealing to Amazon's appetite to offering to rename acres of land, officials have been trying some pretty crazy ideas in an attempt to win over the e-commerce giant.
Becoming the host city to Amazon's second headquarters presents huge economic opportunity for any municipality. The headquarters has the potential for 50,000 well-paying jobs and a $5 billion investment, which certainly won't prompt any complaints from legislators come tax time.
