Motor Trend has named the winners of its car, truck and SUV of the year awards. For 2017, the honors go to the Chevrolet Bolt EV car, the Ford (F) - Get Report  Super Duty truck, and the Mercedes-Benz GLC SUV. 'In our minds, the Chevy Bolt EV was the best of best for 2017, primarily because of the range it offers, and the value it has,' explained Edward Loh, editor-in-chief of Motor Trends. "This is an electric vehicle that you can drive 238 miles on a full charge, yet it only costs just under $30,000 if you apply the federal tax rebate that is available." Chevy is a General Motors (GM) - Get Report  brand. Motor Trends also named Tesla (TSLA) - Get Report  CEO Elon Musk as its person of the year. The winners were announced ahead of the L.A. Auto Show.
