CEO of Newly Traded Conduent Says Companies Eager to Spend in 2017

Business services company Conduent began trading at the NYSE Tuesday, and the CEO sees business opportunties from the new administration in Washington.

The CEO of Conduent (CNDT) - Get Conduent, Inc. Report , which began trading as a standalone company for the first time on Tuesday, sees more opportunities for the firm now that it has separated from Xerox (XRX) - Get Xerox Holdings Corporation Report . Ashok Vemuri, CEO of Conduent, says heading into this year companies are eager to increase spending on business services thanks to increased confidence. Vemuri noted he sees turmoil in the health care industry, but Conduent has no exposure to Affordable Care Act companies and he expects the firm will benefit from any changes out of Washington. Vemuri is looking for increased business this year from President-elect Trump's plans to increase infrastructure spending.
