Caterpillar, McDonald's and 3M Earnings Fuel Stock Rebound
Strong earnings from Dow components Caterpillar (CAT) - Get Report , McDonald's (MCD) - Get Report and 3M (MMM) - Get Report were on track to push the blue-chip index higher after a 0.23% decline on Monday.
John Eade, CEO of Argus Research, was pleased to see companies raising their fourth quarter outlooks.
Eade also pointed to the "buy on the dip strategy," which has been in focus throughout 2017 as volatility dips to multi-decade lows.
