Caterpillar, 3M, Comcast Help Propel Markets Higher at Midday
Positive earnings reports from Dow components 3M and Caterpillar are helping to fuel a rally on Wall Street. Comcast (CMCSA) is higher after beating third-quarter earnings. The cable giant reported its profit rose 50 percent and revenue surged 4 percent. Earnings results are also lifting some airline stocks. Southwest (LUV) and Jetblue (JBLU) are up after posting third quarter profits. United Continental (UAL) are getting grounded in midday trading, Yelp (YELP) shares are down nearly 16 percent with investors selling shares of the online review site after it delivered a disappointing fourth-quarter outlook. It's looking like tech sector Thursday with Microsoft (MSFT) and Amazon (AMZN) reporting after the close. Both stocks are higher in Thursday's session ahead of their results.
