Sunstein added that Google and Intel are examples of companies where the executives wait to hear from their employees before weighing in, so as not to negatively influence the decision making process. Groups often amplify instead of fix individual errors in judgement in Sunstein's opinion, and they often emphasize what everybody knows instead of sharing critical information held only by a few. He said one way to get groups to make better decisions is to use a tournament with prizes, a model successfully employed by Netflix.
