Carl Icahn: A Brief History of Trump's New Adviser
Corporate-raider turned activist Carl Icahn was named special adviser to President-elect Trump on overhauling federal regulations. He relinquished the role after questions over whether he improperly benefited from energy policies he recommended.
The billionaire investor has had a long history on Wall Street before heading into Washington. Icahn started on Wall Street in 1961 as a stockbroker, Founded Icahn & Co. in 1968. Icahn developed reputation as a "corporate raider" after his hostile takeover of TWA in 1985. Michael Douglas profiled Icahn for his role as Gordon Gekko in the movie "Wall Street".
