Stephane Zaharia, VP & General Manager of the CuisinArt Resort & Spa in Anguilla tells TheStreet’s Jill Malandrino the luxury travel industry has seen great growth since 2008, particularly the Caribbean, as it is a relatively safer region to go and visit. A catalyst to this growth is the airline industry opening more routes and travel options to the region, as well as group and incentive for corporate travel programs which essentially came to a halt in 2008. Zaharia explains a key to remaining competitive is being a family-owned resort which allows CuisinArt to provide a more customized experience and higher standards, essentially a destination within a destination. The property boasts 5 restaurants, a world-class spa and Greg Norman-designed golf course and that lends to what luxury travel expects.
