Soup maker Campbell Soup delivered growth despite some big challenges industry wide. Earnings for the latest quarter were in-line with expectations. Profit came in at $0.49 a share. That's six cents better than a year ago. Overall sales climbed to $1.85 billion. That was below estimates, though not by much. Ironically, its namesake soup didn't do well. Soup sales in the U.S. slipped 3%. But thanks to popular baking goods and snacks like Goldfish, Campbell Soup locked in a 7.5% growth compared to a year ago. CEO Denise Morrison said, "Our fiscal 2014 results were in line with our most recent guidance. Looking ahead, we plan to deliver modest growth in fiscal 2015, despite a consumer environment that is likely to remain challenging. The company expects to grow between 1% and 2% in the upcoming year. It announced a plan to launch 200 new products in fiscal year 2015 to meet consumer's appetite better.
