Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen says the new CT6 sedan will be the 'new flagship for Cadillac.' de Nysschen said, 'This car really takes Cadillac back into a market segment where people expect the brand to be. A technological masterpiece, a high performance luxury car, very sophisticated, very refined, but a great driver’s car at the same time.' Production on the new CT6 will begin in November and the first cars should hit showrooms in December. de Nysschen said the automaker is still trying to expand its global footprint and expects China to become Cadillac's second volume hub. In 2015, China sales are up 47 percent. China production of the CT6 will start in 2016. There are signs the strong U.S. dollar is potentially having a negative impact on U.S. automakers as European and Japanese automakers offer 'aggressive sales incentives and employ other mechanisms to expand market share,' according to de Nysschen.
