On the eve of the 2015 Detroit Auto Show, General Motors' Buick brand debuted its first convertible in a quarter century, the 2016 Buick Cascada, as well as the futuristic Avenir Concept. Buick marketing manager Rob Peterson is betting the company's first convertible in North America in 25 years, which also boasts features like HiPer Strut suspension technology and an acoustic/thermal insulated soft top roof, will lure in a new consumer base. He says many people who are looking at convertibles have never turned to the Buick brand, but now, the automaker has something to offer them. Buick also debuted the Buick Avenir, a flagship vehicle with a new design and technology integration that is expected to forecast the future design direction of the brand.
