Buffett’s Berkshire Still Nimble Despite Size Says 'Deep Value' Author

Berkshire Hathaway may be massive, but Warren Buffett remains nimble because he carries a huge amount of cash and is the sole decision-maker, said Tobias Carlisle, author of "Deep Value". Carlisle added that Buffett is forced to engage in a universe of mega-cap stocks due to his size and would probably post even larger gains if his fund was smaller. He said one of his favorite 'Deep Value' stocks now is Valero, saying that the refiner is cheap on an acquirer's multiple. Finally, Carlisle said individual investors should follow well-regarded activists like Carl Icahn into a stock because they create catalysts to move shares higher.
