The EU and Belgian capital remains on high alert a day after two deadly bomb blasts in Brussels that left more than 30 people killed and more than 250 injured. In the EU district near the subway attack, EU flags were flying at half-staff in front of the European Commission and at the European Parliament down the road as the EU district remained eerily quiet with heavy security everywhere. As daily life slowly resume, personal safety remains a concern in a fluid situation: Initial reports that police had caught the main suspect in the the airport attacks were later denied.
