Bourbon Production Has Soared 150% in Last 15 Years, Maker's Mark Sees Room for Growth
Bourbon growth and production continues to soar and the iconic Marker’s Mark brand is working harder than ever to keep up with demand.
According to the Kentucky Distillers’ Association bourbon production has soared by more than 150% in the last 15 years. One iconic brand, Maker's Mark, is working to keep up with demand. The company's COO, Robert Samuels, talks about the industry as a whole and how his family was in the whiskey business for 300 years before Maker’s Mark came about and perfected the brand, including the famous red wax seal. Earlier this year, Suntory agreed to buy Jim Beam, gaining access to Maker’s Mark. Samuels says Suntory, a family-owned company with whiskey-making heritage like Maker’s Mark, was a natural fit as both companies are committed to keeping to tradition, while looking forward to growth with a broader reach.
