The U.S.-China trade war has always been the topic of discussions on everyone's mind lately.

Bernstein's 35th Annual Strategic Decisions Conference being held in New York City is no exception.

On Wednesday, Boeing (BA) - Get Report CEO Dennis Muilenburg weighed in on the trade talks.

"We continue to be very engaged in the trade dialogue and we're engaged both with the leadership in the US and in China. I think the good thing is, we clearly have a seat at the table and we are involved in the discussions," he said.

"We've seen notable progress over the last six months and clearly there are some challenges right now in terms of getting to the finish line on a deal. There are some very real issues that still need to be addressed around intellectual property and trade practices and those are being worked through in a disciplined way," he added.

"We also see in both countries are a real desire for a trade solution. And within that aerospace, a healthy aerospace industry is a mutual interest in China," he said.
