BlackBerry and Samsung Take Aim at Apple, Walmart Bets on Banking

This week, BlackBerry unveiled its first major new phone in almost two years, Samsung readied its Galaxy Note 4 for landing in China and South Korea ahead of the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, while Walmart added checking accounts to its store shelves. BlackBerry's new Passport smartphone is priced at $599, less than the starting price for Apple's newly released iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, which start at $649 and $749, respectively. BlackBerry isn't the only one taking aim at Apple. Samsung shifted the launch date in the regions from October after Apple debuted the new phones, which feature a larger screen close to the size of the Galaxy Note 4.
