Bitcoin Keeps Breaking Through Barriers
The cryptocurrency shot past the $4,000 for the first time
Bitcoin shot past $4,000 for the first time, as growing optimism is behind Bitcoin's rapidly rising value. The digital currency trade at $4,125.17 on Monday morning, up 15% since Friday after a system to quicken the speed of transactions was activated.
The spike came after a rival cryptocurrency was launched called Bitcoin Cash.
"The amount of transactions that can be processed at a reasonable speed is going to be much higher, so a lot of people are very bullish about Bitcoin now," said Arthur Hayes, Founder of Bitcoin Exchange BitMEX.
