Biotech Will Dominate 21st Century Says 'Evolving Ourselves' Author

The 21st century will be dominated by biology as scientists take control of the genetic code, said Steve Gullans, co-author of 'Evolving Ourselves'. Gullans added that investors tend to over-estimate technology in the short term, but under-estimate it over the long term. He said humans will adapt to climate change although it cannot be done in the near term. Furthermore, Gullans said human beings are impacting society through 'unnatural selection' and are improving and lengthening their lives through technological advances like gene therapy and the engineering of bacteria.
