It's cloud-based and focuses on sales, service, and marketing. Okay, now that we got that out of the way, here's a little bit about the company's history.

Salesforce is a fairly new company. It launched in 1999 and today is headquartered in San Francisco, California.
1999. Salesforce launches in California
2000. Dreamforce launches, the annual tech conference is now an iconic part of the Salesforce Ecosystem
2004. A global community called Ohana is created.
2005. AppExchange launches. The digital ecosystem allowing companies to problem solve with ready-to-install solutions to any business challenge.
2016. Einstein launches, artificial intelligence that helps companies better understand their customer
