Salesforce (CRM - Get Report) , you've heard the name bantered around.  But, how well do you know Salesforce?

The company is a CRM platform.  What's that?  CRM stands for customer relationship management.  Salesforce helps more than 150,000 companies build customer relationships. It's cloud based and focuses on sales, service and marketing.  O.K. now that we got that out of the way, a little bit about the company's history.

The History of Salesforce

Salesforce is a fairly new company.  It launched in 1999 and today is headquartered in San Francisco, California.

1999. Salesforce launches in California

2000. Dreamforce launches, the annual tech conference is now an iconic part of the Salesforce Ecosystem

2004. A global community called Ohana is created.

2005. AppExchange launches. The digital ecosystem allowing companies to problem solve with ready-to-install solutions to any business challenge.

2016. Einstein launches, artificial intelligence that helps companies better understand their customer
