Barnes & Noble Barnstorms Into Amazon's Top Line with Google Play

Barnes & Noble shares are up 60 percent over the last 12 months, and it's our Chart of the Day. The stock is tacked on much of its gains in 2014, and has announced big partnerships with big tech companies as it made gains. Earlier this summer, the company announced it would pair with Samsung to make a better Nook. Next, it revealed Google Shopping Express would begin taking same-day deliveries to consumers in select cities. All of this has come while Amazon's stock has slumped, and a surprising divergence has developed between the two competitors in a battle that has typically gone Jeff Bezos' way.
