Barack Obama's tweet in response to the events in Charlottesville has become the most liked tweet in history, with over 3 million people liking it. The tweet was part of a series of quotes the former President posted quoting Nelson Mandela.

On Wednesday morning, the tweet surpassed the number of likes racked up by Arianna Grande's tweet posted in the aftermath of the terrorist attack at her concern in Manchester.

Barack Obama also has the fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh and ninth most liked tweets in history. In contrast, despite his love of social media, Donald Trump, doesn't even crack the Top 10. Trump's first tweet about the violence in Charlottesville only garnered around 191,000 likes. The most popular tweet by the current President of the United States was the video he posted of him attacking the CNN logo during a wrestling match. The post from June wracked up over 360,000 retweets and over 600,000 likes.
