Look out America, here comes cachaça! Avua Cachaca is releasing the first Tapinhoa wood aged cachaca available in the United States this month. Pete Nevenglosky, co-founder of Avua Cachaca, explains why Cachaca, one of the top five most consumed spirits in the world is poised to explode in the U.S. Avuá Cachaça is single-sourced and pot distilled at a third generation farm about four hours from Rio. Nevenglosky said the company's mission is to challenge the perception of the cachaça category as a "one-trick caipirinha pony" through a "terroir-driven artisanal product" that expresses the 500 years of traditional production in Brazil.
