Tequila Avion may now be majority owned by global spirits powerhouse Pernod Ricard, but that does not mean the renegade brand has lost its entrepreneurial spirit, said the company's president Jenna Fagnan. Fagnan said the decision to let Pernod up its stake in Avion through a more than $100 million investment offers the tequila-maker the ability to increase its global distribution. She added that it's a positive deal for Pernod because tequila is growing at a rate of more than 2 times the total category. Finally, Fagnan said the brand, which launched via placement HBO's "Entourage", is expanding its social media platform including partnerships with Uber.
