Musicians like 50 Cent, who partnered with SMS Audio and DJ Tiesto, who collaborated with AudioFly, are noticing the explosive growth of the headphones industry and are trying to cash in and replicate the success of Dr. Dre's Beats. That brand was acquired by Apple last year for $3 billion. It's not just traditional headphones that are gaining momentum. DJ Armin van Buuren partnered with Philips to create a line of headphones that fold-up, making it easier for DJs to take them on the road. TheStreet's Scott Gamm reports from New York.
