The Koch brothers would lessen the animosity directed toward them if they emerged from the shadows and put human faces behind their political contributions, says Daniel Schulman, author of "Sons of Wichita". Schulman says the petrochemical company which is the source of the Koch family fortune has cleaned up its environmental act and is a better actor than most of its peers. He also says that the family is primarily concerned with taxes and libertarian issues, as opposed to pushing conservative social issues. Finally, Schulman says the four Koch brothers - Frederick, Charles, David and Bill - share the same family squabbles as everybody else, although the monetary stakes are larger.
