Are Companies Like Amazon, Walmart, Dominos and Pizza Hut Really Saving You Time?
Walmart's ( (WMT) - Get Report ) partnership with Google ( (GOOG) - Get Report ) allows you to order everyday items using your voice, and a Google Home device.
It is the latest attempt by a major company to try to save you time, but not necessarily money.
Amazon ( (AMZN) - Get Report ) already allows voice ordering through its Alexa devices. The company pioneered one-click ordering on its web site and with "Dash Buttons" for your home.
Dominos ( (DPZUF) ) made headlines by allowing customers to order pizza using an emoji. But you can also use Facebook ( (FB) - Get Report ) Messenger, Twitter ( (TWTR) - Get Report ), Text messaging, Ford ( (F) - Get Report ) Sync, Alexa, Google Home and others.
Pizza Hut ( (YUM) - Get Report ) ran a promo featuring sneakers that order their pizza using Bluetooth.
McDonald's (MCD) recently partnered with Uber to deliver its food while Chipotle ( (CMG) - Get Report ) experimented with drone delivery.
