Stocks are starting the trading week slightly higher on Monday as traders focus on the Fed. Investors were greeted with fresh economic data before the markets opened including the Empire Manufacturing index and the Fed's Industrial Output report. Microsoft (MSFT) is buying Mojang, the creator of the popular Minecraft video games. The deal is for $2.5 billion dollars. Apple (AAPL) says pre-orders for its latest iPhones hit a record in the first 24 hours but did not reveal specific figures. Analysts project Apple will sell up to 75 million units of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus by the end of the year. A beer consolidation may be brewing. Heineken has rejected a takeover bid from rival SABMiller, which itself is reportedly an acquisition target for InBev. American beer maker, Molson Coors (TAP) is up sharply in early trading on the possible consolidation news.
