Apple to Skip Retina MacBook Air, Debut New iPads, iMac at Event
Despite rumors of a new 12-inch Macbook Air with Retina display, Apple may not debut the product at its media event on Thursday. Bank of America/Merrill Lynch analyst, Wamsi Mohan, does not expect the new MacBook Air to be introduced -- instead, he believes Apple will unveil its latest line of iPads, an updated iMac, Mac Mini and OS X Yosemite. He says most of the announcements are anticipated and should not have a material impact on the stock. Mohan's comments are echoed by John Paczkowski of Re/code, who says, 'Apple may well have a new MacBook Air with Retina Display in the pipeline, but it's not going to unveil it this week. Sources familiar with Apple's plans tell me that the company's latest reimagining of the ultralight laptop won't be shown off at its Thursday event.'
