Apple Snaps Its Losing Streak Despite Volatile Day on Wall Street
It was a volatile day on Wall Street Tuesday but the markets managed to finish off their lows but still to the downside.
It was a volatile day on Wall Street Tuesday but the markets managed to finish off their lows but still to the downside. Crude prices continued to collapse. The heavily traded February contract lost another 4% to close below $48 a barrel. The usual suspects weren't as phased by falling oil prices. Exxon (XOM) gave up just about 0.53% and Chevron (CVX) closed slightly in the red but virtually flat. Apple (AAPL) also managed to snap its 5-session losing streak. The stock is still up about 36% for a one-year period. Gold glistened in today's trading. The precious metal rallied up more than 1%. The rush for a safe haven benefited miners like Newmont Mining (NEM), gaining more than 4%.
