Apple Shares Surge on Earnings Beat, Bullish Guidance

Apple (AAPL) - Get Report reported fiscal third quarter earnings of $1.67 per share, while analysts had expected $1.57.

Revenue of $45.4 billion eclipsed forecasts of $44.89 billion.

iPhone shipments totaled 41 million while analysts had expected for 40.7 million iPhone shipments

Fourth quarter revenue guidance stood between $49 billion and $52 billion, higher than the $49.2 billion Wall Street was looking for.

Services revenue -- that includes revenue from iTunes -- rose 22% to $7.3 billion.
